Srini Koppolu, the former Corporate Vice President and Managing
Director of Microsoft India Development Center, has been appointed
as a Chairman of a Hyderabad-based company, SETU Software Systems.
Incubated in IIIT-Hyderabad, SETU is a technology company primarily
focused in the areas of search and information access technologies
using text and natural language processing. SETU Software was
started in 2008 by Prasad Pingali and Vasudeva Varma, professors at
IIIT, Hyderabad.
Dr Prasad Pingali, CEO of SETU said, “Our team is very
excited to have Srini on board. His experience in building
world-class teams and products will be an invaluable addition to
the team and will take us a long way.”
After a 21 year stint with Microsoft, Koppolu had left the
company last year to pursue his dream of contributing to the
startup ecosystem and education in India. Koppolu said,
“There is a clear alignment between my passion and
SETU’s vision. The company’s strong technology
foundation can lead us to many unique business opportunities and
enable us to create solutions for education and social empowerment.
I am absolutely positive that SETU will reach greater heights and
