MTNL introduces cloud based Internet Security for broadband customers

F-Secure and MTNL have recently announced their partnership for Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited (MTNL) to provide Internet security to its broadband customers. The partnership will enable broadband customers to avail the Internet security feature called the MTNL PC Protection, on a pay-per-use basis.

The service provider will provide Internet security features based on F-Secures cloud-based security offering DeepGaurd 2.0. The solution uses ‘in-the-cloud’ computing capabilities to provide protection against new threats. The solution is designed to provide a global level of protection within 60 seconds of the first confirmation of a new threat.

“With the increasing growth of Internet usage and the higher broadband penetration amongst our customers, we wanted to offer them one of the most effective PC protection packages which not only provides high security but is also a value for money,” informs J Gopal, Executive Director MTNL Mumbai.

He further added that, “With various products available through the association we are hopeful of building a strong portfolio which gives our customers the latest anti virus offering that is value-maximizing and caters to their needs of online security.”

Customers can avail the PC Protection feature at prices of Rs 2 per day (for basic pack) onwards. MTNL has also introduced a special 30-day free trial for customers to evaluate all the PC Protection features.
