IBM has recently announced that Torrent Pharmaceuticals, one of the leading Pharma companies in Gujarat, has appointed IBM India for consulting services including upgrading of their SAP application and hardware infrastructure. The partnership is aimed at help the pharmaceutical company gear up for the next level of growth.

“Organizations such as Torrent Pharmaceuticals, who are moving towards the next phase of internal growth, understand the significance of adopting services from experienced consultants such as IBM. We have developed a portfolio of repeatable, automated services solutions that enables us to deliver business value rapidly and reliably to our clients across a range of industries. We are proud to help clients such as Torrent Pharmaceuticals who view both IT and business strategy as a complementary piece and not an isolated one,” said Sandip Patel, Managing Partner, Global Business Services, IBM India/ South Asia

As part of the engagement, the company will help Torrent comply with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), through the use of Parallel Ledger functionality in New General Ledger (New GL). It will enhance the Disaster Recovery (DR) processes within the pharmaceutical company to ensure a near-zero data loss model. In addition, the engagement will help Torrent upgrade their hardware infrastructure, in order to address the higher power usage that the company would need for running the new version of SAP (ECC 6.0).
