Mahindra Satyam has joined the GENIVI Alliance, an automotive
and consumer electronics industry association which drives the
development and adoption of an open In-vehicle Infotainment (IVI)
reference platform.
This will support vehicle infotainment applications such as
music, news and multimedia, navigation and location services,
telephony, internet services and more.
With this, Mahindra Satyam will adopt an open source In-Vehicle
Infotainment (IVI) reference platform and drive development of
globally competitive infotainment solutions. It will leverage
GENIVI specifications and implementation guidelines to develop
Infotainment solutions to Automotive OEMs and tier-1s to reduce
development costs and time to market and the overall total cost of
ownership for end consumers.
Using GENIVI specifications and compliance/certification
programs, Mahindra Satyam will enhance the quality of the
infotainment solutions, focus on accelerating innovation and
deliver a compelling value proposition to its customers.
Karthikeyan Natarajan, Global head and vice president,
integrated engineering services business, Mahindra Satyam said,
