Kronos signs alliance with Wipro to provide workforce management solutions
The two firms will establish a Centre of Excellence to explore opportunities in providing workforce management solutions InformationWeek News Network, June 16, 2010
Kronos, a global player in workforce management solutions, and IT major Wipro, announced the creation of a strategic alliance for addressing key markets and business challenges in the realm of workforce management. A Centre of Excellence (CoE) to be jointly established by Kronos and Wipro is aimed at addressing the challenges of controlling labour costs, minimizing compliance risk, and improving workforce productivity in India.

The alliance is aimed at leveraging Wipro’s market leadership in enterprise applications service delivery in taking Kronos workforce management solutions to key targeted segments of manufacturing, services, healthcare, retail, and government & public sector. Wipro, with its vast experience in India, claims to be well positioned to enable seamless integration of the Kronos solution with existing core ERP applications or other applications to enable faster ROI for its customers.

Speaking on this occasion, Dick Cahill, Vice President & General Manager, International Operations, Kronos, said, “India is an exciting emerging market for Kronos. We are doing all we can to leverage our global leadership in workforce management to help organizations control labour costs, minimize compliance risk, and improve workforce productivity.”

The CoE will create a Centre of Expertise on Kronos and address issues such as how to keep pace with new technologies, enhance business, and offer optimized solutions based on right technologies, architectures, and frameworks.  While the CoE will provide the joint go-to-market strategies for reselling Kronos workforce management solutions, it will also focus on sharing best practices, standards, and reference architecture, as well as and creating re-usable components that can be leveraged across different client engagements to accelerate and standardize implementations.

James Thomas, Country Manager, India Operations for Kronos, said, “We are already doing sizeable business in the Manufacturing and Services industry segments and see strong early traction in the healthcare, government and public sector, and retail segments. We expect our relationship with Wipro to further accelerate engagements in these sectors in leading corporations in India and emerging markets.”
