Forbes Marshall selects IBM to support business growth
Utilizes a combination of IBM Power Systems and Storage for a 40 percent saving on TCO InformationWeek News Network, March 05, 2010

Forbes Marshall, a company providing steam engineering and control instrumentation solutions in the country, has selected IBM’s hardware platform to support their ERP. The company chose IBM Power 6+ P550 servers with virtualization and DS 5020 storage for their server and storage requirements.

Forbes Marshall said that the ability to move about resources dynamically based on business needs would help them save upto 40 percent on TCO. This is in comparison with the traditional solution of separate physical competitive servers.

Forbes Marshall required a cost-effective scalable solution that would take care of their existing workload and also support their new upgraded Oracle Applications environment for the next 3 to 4 years. The company says that the application will have the flexibility to redefine workloads for their ERP production environment.

“IBM infrastructure gives us the capacity, performance, reliability and availability, elements that are critical to help our ERP setup, backbone of our business operations, to perform as enablers facilitating business growth” said Sharat Airani, Manager - IT, Forbes Marshall.

“IBM Power 6+ processor-based servers and our storage solutions help address the unique requirements of our clients as they begin their journey to build a dynamic infrastructure,’ said, Ajay Mittal, VP – General Business, Systems and Technology Group, IBM India/SA.
