HP partners with IIIT-B to launch Network University
The University will aid IT professionals to advance their knowledge in the delivery of next-generation enterprise networks InformationWeek News Network, December 09, 2010

HP in partnership with International Institute of Information Technology, Bangalore (IIIT-B) announced the launch of the HP Network University. Based at the IIIT-B campus in Electronic City, Bangalore, the university will allow IT professionals to advance their IT knowledge in the delivery of next-generation enterprise networks.

The growth of networking technologies, new open standards and unified communications has increased the skill requirements of IT professionals. To meet these requirements, the Network University says it will provide the tools, methodologies and labs to teach the latest standards in networking solutions.  Course attendees will also learn how to transform their proprietary environments into open, agile networks and data centers based on HP Converged Infrastructure.

“Next-generation networks built on converged infrastructure are going to be central to the data center of the future.  Network University professionals will be able to design, build and operate these next generation networks,” said Prof. Sadagopan, Director, IIIT-Bangalore. “We bring together expert faculty, best in class infrastructure and a proven industry academia relationship. Our association with HP will add immense value to our education system and bridge the gap of training between employers and academic institutions.”

Spread over three to six months, the course will cover basic to advanced levels of networking, network security, consulting, unified communication and converged infrastructure.  HP and IIIT-B will also establish up a dedicated lab to study and analyze networking technologies.

“Organizations are increasingly network dependent as they develop new ways to engage their customers, employees and partners. This represents both a challenge and an opportunity for the IT community. The partnership of HP and IIIT-B brings a unique model of research and education on latest in network solutions,” said Neelam Dhawan, Managing Director, HP India.
