Netmagic recently announced the Phase two of its cloud services
offering. Labeled Cloud 2.0, the second phase of its cloud
services, which were launched about a year ago, will have Netmagic
offering a web based interface, which will allow customers to
choose from a catalog of cloud services and pay on a monthly or
even an hourly basis.
The company’s cloud computing service already has over 100
customers and 500 cloud instances. The client list includes
organizations such as India Infoline, Renault, CCIL and Viva
Infomedia. According to Sharad Sanghi, MD and CEO, Netmagic
Solutions, only 25 percent of these customers have been existing
customers who have migrated from hosted services to cloud services,
while the rest 75 percent have been new acquisitions. More
importantly, the company has managed to break even with its cloud
services just within a year.
In the new service, users can choose from a fixed plan or an
elastic plan as per their requirements and pay as per usage. The
company is offering three levels of compute resource usage, namely
Silver, Gold and Diamond, which vary in terms of the amount of
compute, memory, storage and network resources that the user can
avail at a particular cost.
The portal called MyNetmagic allows the user to self provision
server resources, monitor usage, re-configure existing resources
based on the requirements and even stop server instances when not
required. Firms also get the corresponding updates in costs so that
they can monitor usage and bills.
The company is also offering specific cloud features such as
persistent storage as default, option to choose public, private, or
hybrid model and hourly billing options. It claims to be offering
SLAs on single virtual machine instances and not on the entire
grid.
