The ERP major has announced an on demand solution to tap the fast growing SaaS market InformationWeek News Network, March 19, 2010
SAP recently announced a BI solution on demand in India, to meet the growing demand from companies of all sizes for SaaS BI tools. The product is available online on a pay-per-use basis, and already has a user base of 260,000 subscribers. The personal edition is free of cost and can be downloaded online at www.biondemand.com. The solution has a flexible pricing model, offering three editions of the product to address the different needs of each customer: Free Personal, Essential and Advanced editions.

“With SAP BusinessObjects BI OnDemand solution, organizations can empower their users instantly and easily. This is an important milestone in SAP’s on-demand vision, and further proof that we continue to innovate in the cloud.”

“Current market trends show strong demand for SaaS BI tools that are easy to use and acquire, and IDC research expects the SaaS BI market to grow three times faster than the overall BI and analytics market over the next five years,” said Dan Vesset, program vice president, Business Analytics, IDC.
